I'm a dreamer at times. Of all the things I could do, I would do, I would want to do if... I won the lottery! How many of you think about that? How many of you have actually sat down and wrote out exactly what you would do if you were handed, say, six hundred million dollars! Oh! I have! Ha! Many times! How many of you think about how much easier life would be if you were just rich! Unlimited money! That imaginary tree that we always talk about, that grows money- what if it became a reality!
Let me tell you! If the wealth of the world was placed in different hands, things would be so much different!
Then we get reminded with passages such as Proverbs 23: 4&5 which says, "Don't wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. 5. In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle."
There are so many pyramid schemes and get rich quick schemes. But they are just that, Schemes! But when you sit back and look at everything that needs to be done in our world, it's daunting. The most pressing thing right now, is mental health. More and more people are needing help in this area. People need food! With rent being almost double what it was a couple years ago, people are making their budget cuts in the check-out lane.
These are only the surface problems. I won't get into the problems that no one wants to talk about. They pretend they aren't there, until it affects their own family. Some just don't know where to start. But do you know what all of these issues have in common? To actually do something, to set a program in place that will actually help and make progress in these areas!?! They all need MONEY!
So now what? Where do we go from here? The good guys need the money that the other guys are sitting on to help people to have the lives that they deserve.
Matthew 6:26&27 says, "Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to Him than they are? 27. Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?"
This is not saying to be lazy! And expect God to carry you and hand feed you with a silver spoon! This is saying that you are more important as a child of God to Him than one of the multitudes of birds, but if He cares for them, then He will lavish on you! He will give you opportunities of lifetimes!
It's still fun to dream though...
