I don't know if everyone truly understands the wrath of God. When God declares enough is enough, He has given enough warnings, enough time outs. Some people say that the rainbow is God's promise to never destroy the earth again. Folks, that is oh so wrong! The rainbow is God's promise to never wipe out the earth again with a flood! He made that very distinction! Genesis 12:14&15 says, "When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, 15. and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life."
Guess what!! That leaves a door wide open to OH so many other possibilities! Like: Famine. Fires. Freezing. Earthquakes! Etc..
Ezekiel 21:8 says, "Then the Lord said to me, 'Son of man, give the people this message from the Lord: A sword, a sword is being sharpened and polished. 10. It is sharpened for terrible slaughter and polished to flash like lightning! Now will you laugh? Those far stronger than you have fallen beneath its power! 11. Yes, the sword is now being sharpened and polished; it is being prepared for the executioner. 12. 'Son of man, cry out and wail; pound your thighs in anguish, for that sword will slaughter me people and their leaders- everyone will die! 13. It will put them all to the test. What chance do they have? Says the Sovereign Lord,' 14. 'Son of man, prophesy to them and clap your hands. Then take the sword and brandish it twice, even three times, to symbolize the great massacre, the great massacre facing them on every side. 15. Let their hearts melt with terror for the sword glitters at every gate. It flashes like lightning and polished for slaughter! 16. O sword, slash to the right, then slash to the left, wherever you will, wherever you want. 17. I, too, will clap my hands, and I will satisfy my fury. I, the LORD, have spoken!"
Are you still laughing? People only want to look and the love and mercy of God! I am blessed by His love and mercy! For I am a child of God! I don't have to worry about His wrath. Where do you stand? Will you be spared? Do you live in a holy city? Is it worthy to be spared? I cannot think of any place that God could look at, right now, and deem it to be holy and good. Where there are no evil doers. Even the best of us- are still human and fallible. The only difference for the ones that have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the ones that have been redeemed and forgiven, will continue life at home in Heaven. When the wrath of God comes and that sword goes right through the middle of you, where will you be going? To the streets of gold? Or to an eternity of suffering?
