79. Jesus Wept

JESUS WEPT.

Read that again. And again. One more time.

Two little words, that just grabbed a hold of me. Why? Everyone cries! Anyone that experiences great loss, weeps. But I think about my own dad. I never in my life saw him weep. Not even when he came to tell me that he was sick. Yes, I saw him cry! But never did I ever see him weep or sob.  So to think that Jesus! The Son of the King! Would. Could! WEEP!?

JESUS WEPT.

Yes, Jesus died a wretched death! Any normal person would assume that He wept.  That physical and emotional pain that He endured! Would make any grown man weep. BUT this is not the context that this passage is taken from.  This passage is from when He went to Lazarus. When He found out that they had already buried him. He became so angry that "HE WEPT". He wasn't weeping over Lazarus! Or the fact that he was dead and in a tomb. He was weeping for the one's that should have trusted Him, the one's that He asked to trust Him. They did not have faith! He told them to have faith! To just believe! They did not.

What has God told you to "Chill out" on? For you to just have faith!? To just believe! And you simply wouldn't or... couldn't (as the enemy would like you to believe.) Did you give into your flesh? And do it your own way anyway?

I mean Lazarus had been dead for four days!! I am not sure I could have dealt with that stench for that long! I think I would have done the same thing.

Is God telling you to wait on a family member? Is He telling you to wait on a job change? Or some other big move? Are you letting your impatience drive your desires? Or are you calling on the Holy Spirit for self-control?

Hebrews 11:5&6 says, "It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to Heaven without dying- He disappeared, because God took him! For he was taken up, he was known as the person who pleased God. 6. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him."

Ephesians 5:6-11 says, "Don't be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey Him. 7. Don't participate in the things these people do. 8. for once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of the light! 9. For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. 10. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. 11. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead expose them."

Are you walking with Jesus? Are you following His footsteps? Do you have faith that God will lead you in every aspect of your life? Is Jesus weeping over you right now? Is the Son of all creation! The Son of the King of all kings! The Son of the Ruler of the entire universe! Is Jesus weeping over you? What do you need to do, to surrender for Jesus to rejoice over you and with you!?!
