60. Absolution.

Please read in order! Thank you!

So, someone asked me to talk about the word absolution. They said, "If God puts the word on my heart!" Well, I believe that God speaks to us in different ways! If they were felt compelled to ask, there must be a meaning behind that! So naturally I prayed on it! So here we go!

When you look up the definition of absolution, it says, "The formal release of guilt, obligation, or punishment."

Fact is, we are our own worst judge!! Often times, when we mess up, we beat ourselves up worse than what any one person could do! When we do something really bad- we tend to lock ourselves up in our personal prisons. We shut people out. We allow the enemy to creep in and speak lies into our lives. We crush ourselves, and the more the enemy tells us that we deserve our own punishment, the more that we believe it.

As humans- we are going to fail. Some more than others! Funny thing is- that "more" that we talk about, is only in our eyes. Sin is sin in God's eyes! Ogling over someone, and looking at them with lust and desire, is just as bad as the next persons murder rap sheet! In God's eyes!

We have a mighty God though!!!

Isaiah 1:18 says, "Come now, let's settle this, says the Lord, 'Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them white as wool."

Micah 7:19 says, "Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!"

When you confess and ask God for forgiveness, He throws your sin into the ocean! He washes you clean!!

When you feel dragged down and beaten- carrying the weight of your sins from the past... It is literally because you keep swimming out into the middle of the ocean and dragging that weight back out! That is why you are emotionally exhausted!!

God gave you absolution through Him! What will it take to give yourself absolution? I think, often times, we don't quite understand how to walk with our story. We don't know how to have peace with our story.

John 5:8&9 says, "Jesus told him, 'stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!' 9. Instantly the man was healed! He rolled up his mat and began to walk..."

You are instantly healed! You asked God for forgiveness! He grants it! He heals you! Pick up your story and walk! You tell your story to help the next person that needs freedom! You don't tell your story for sympathy, and attention anymore! You proclaim- "This is my story- and my God redeemed me! My Lord saved me! And He can do the same for you!"

That's when you receive absolution for yourself! When God gives you absolution- or when you ask God for forgiveness! You pick up your story! You leave the hurt! You leave the pain! You leave your shackles that you placed on yourself! AND YOU WALK!!!

Galatians 5:1 "So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law!"

Be free!

Until next time!

Numbers 6:24-26

24. May the Lord bless you and protect you!

25. May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you!

26. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace!
