When God speaks to you... Do you listen? Do you even believe that it is possible for God to speak to you? When people are "called" to do something, like I was "called" to write this blog! Other people are "called" to go to foreign countries to share the word of God! Some people are "called" to minister to the homeless! Some are "called" to help single parents! Where do you think that comes from? Do you think people just wake up one day, and say, "Oh that's a good idea!!" Or do you think that there was a tiny but mighty voice inside of them that possibly repeated their calling over and over again, until the person finally listens and acts upon what they are being called to do!?!
1 Corinthians 7:17 says, "Each of you should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you, and remain as you were when God first called you."
Ephesians 4:1-4 says, "Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you, lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. 3. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. 4. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future."
Could you imagine- what the world would look like, if everyone paid attention and acted upon the dreams, visions, and callings that God has placed on their lives!! Now I understand- that sometimes it is so off the wall!!! That it is hard to think it could be of God, let alone from God!! One night as I was entering a prayer meeting, I had a very clear vision of jackals drowning! I thought it was ridiculous! I could not comprehend why I would think of such a strange thing! Thirty minutes into the prayer meeting, our Pastor starts reading from Isaiah 35, and verse 7 says, "The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds and rushes will flourish where desert jackals once lived."
There was something up with those jackals that night! But God was talking to me, He had something to say. He used jackals! It proved to me- to never push aside a vision or a thought, or a dream. God will confirm it, in His own time, and in His own way! This time, God confirmed my vision Biblically!
God created each and every one of us for a purpose! He placed a calling on our lives from the moment we took breath! Are you willing to listen? Are you willing to respond? Are you willing to say "YES" Lord!?!?!
