52. There are more Commandments!?

Please read in order! Thank you!

Did you know that God Commanded us to do more than what He listed in the 10 Commandments!?! Do you think God sent out the 10 Commandments and stamped it good for everything! Well, that is kind of true, but so very false! While everything that He adds on later, can be backed by the 10 Commandments, they are also new! We do the same with our children. We start with a base set of rules, but as they get older, they get new rules! But their new rules, are backed by the original rules! As situations change, and the things that they want to do, become more independent- we have to adjust!

When talking with my kids, I always start with- No drinking, No smoking, No drugs, No sneaking off with anyone. No touching, No kissing, and don't do anything dumb! I usually keep going until they get annoyed with me! But I want them to know that I love them! I care about what happens to them! I want them to have fun! And enjoy the places that they go! But I want them to be safe also! When they cut off my rants, I make them give me a rule for themselves. They find it annoying! But I want to know if they were listening to my rules! And I want to know that they care about themselves, to give themselves guidelines!

These are kind of like my commandments to my kids. The first ones will always remain the same! ex. No lying, no stealing, ect. But what follows, may change as they grow! But they can all be backed with the original, "No lying!"

God wants us to grow with Him! As we mature, He will give us new rules and new Commandments! The first 10 will always remain the same! There will never be a "but" added to any of them!

1 Peter 5:6&7 says, "So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor. 7. Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares for you."

Now where does that say, "I command you", however, when God speaks, He isn't saying it for fun. He's saying it so you apply to your life! And so that you do it! Like when your boss tells you to do something. It's not up for debate, as to whether or not you do it! It needs to get done. There are always consequences for disobedience.

So, in 1 Peter God tells us to humble ourselves, and then to give all our cares and worries to Him! Don't you think for a second that those things are easy! It takes a lot of growing and maturity in the Lord to do these things! Because giving up control goes along with handing those things over!

Philippians 4: 19 says, "And the same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus."

How many of you would give up everything you had? Your home? Clothes? Electronics? To turn and trust God for all of your provisions? Your next meal? Shelter?

HA- I get that may be extreme!! But we have an extreme God! And you just might be the next person that God calls to do that very thing! What would you do if you were called to give up everything!?!

Mark 16:15 says, "And then He told them, 'Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone."

Still to this day, there are people that have never heard the name of Jesus Christ! We are to seek those people out! We are to educate them! We are to allow them to have a choice for their eternity! We are to give them their "free will" opportunity! How serious do you take this mission?

And then there are the words that God speaks directly into our hearts. Are you in tune with Him? Some people say that is crazy and not possible. But the Holy Spirit live within you. He can speak to you at any time! God speaks to us! Through Jesus! Through the Holy Spirit!

Psalm 37: 23&24 says, "The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. 24. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand."

Where is your trust level with the Lord? Your trust level goes hand in hand with your maturity in the Lord! Because the more mature you are, the more you will trust Him! Make sure you are listening to what He is telling you!

Until next time:

Numbers 6:24-26

24. May the Lord bless you and protect you!

25. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you!

26. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace!
