45. The 7th Commandment

Welcome! If this is your first time here, please return and start from the beginning! Thank you!!

      The Seventh Commandment:

Exodus 20:14, "You must not commit adultery."

I think it's fair to say, that if we have learned anything from these commandments, it's that none of them are as simple as they sound! I mean you read it- and think... ok, Great! When I get married, I will not cheat on my spouse! Got it!

WELL.... HAHA Hold it! Because it is not that simple!

In Proverbs- all of Chapter 5 is about avoiding the immoral woman. It says a little more than, "Hey don't do that!" Let's start at Proverbs 5:8-12 "Stay away from her! Don't go near the door of her house! 9. If you do, you will lose your honor and will lose to merciless people all you have achieved. 10. Strangers will consume your wealth, and someone else will enjoy the fruits of your labor. 11. In the end you will groan in anguish when disease consumes your body. 12. You will say 'How I hates discipline! If only I had ignored all the warnings!"

This chapter in Proverbs continues on to tell how stepping out of your marriage, or letting someone else step out of their marriage, will utterly destroy your life. Things have changed over the years, but people are still indulging in evil and all sorts of sins. The scandal of cheating, even as common as it is, still makes peoples jaws drop! It still breaks hearts!

Hebrews 13:4 says, "Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery."

Some people say that these standards only apply to people that lived 2,000 years ago. That the bible needs to be updated. etc... Folks, the bible will never change. God's words will never change. They have already been spoken! God is the same today as He was yesterday, He will be the same forever! He will not change His mind, and He will not make exceptions!

If you think you can con God, or manipulate God, then Heaven help you. I'll tell you right now- that aint never gonna happen!! Start reading your bible! Start filling your head with truth!

People are trying to popularize "group love". I'm not sure of the proper term for this. People having multiple partners, all at once living under one roof.  While polygamy is one person with multiple spouses, they most commonly live in individual households. The families live separate, and the main spouse has a schedule.

NOW- God made us in HIS image.  And God has a very jealous heart! He is not afraid to speak that! He wants and demands that our hearts and our main focus to on Him! That means that we also were created to have jealous hearts.

I so often hear people say that they are living their truth. That this is who they are. Can you tell me, if that is true... then why is your heart still breaking? Why do you live in constant jealousy?

Once you are married- your life of intimacy is to remain between the two involved. There is no room for guests. And there is no room for vacations. Keep each others jealous hearts full and intact!

Until next time:

Numbers 6:24-26

24. May the Lord bless you and protect you!

25. May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you!

26. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace!
